Hygeia partnership focuses on leadership, quality
In November, HMI and Hygeia Hospital held a three-day educational program to kick off their new partnership, focused on strategies for success and building quality management practices into the organization. The program was the first step in an ongoing relationship, forged last May, to focus on training and education in support of Hygeia Hospital’s major goal – to become a regional leader in clinical excellence.

 
 

Biosecurity 2002 takes stock of bioterrorism threats, solutions
Biosecurity 2002 ended with resounding praise from attendees and speakers; given the success of this year’s event, HMI and its collaborators have made plans to continue the program in 2003. The four-day conference, held November 18-21 in Las Vegas, Nevada, offered multiple perspectives to common challenges in the threat of bioterrorism, with presentations from scientists, public health officials, medical workers, and government representatives.

 
 

First WHARF program in India gives training in AIDS care, prevention
HMI, in conjunction with Wockhardt, Ltd. and several organizations in Mumbai, India, is leading a series of free educational programs on HIV/AIDS that they hope will target a key population: health care providers. The first program was held December 4-7 for 42 participants, who will now train others in their organizations.
