In this issue we are pleased to bring you the exciting news that Dubai Healthcare City will launch a world-class tertiary care teaching hospital. This story has been developing for several months, as faculty from HMI, health care leaders in Dubai, a team of architects from a top firm, and clinical and administrative experts from throughout the Harvard medical community have worked together to design every component of the University Hospital.

Around HMI: Employee Award, NPR Coverage, and the new HMI Annual Report

Amanda Wong is the latest recipient of the HMI Employee Recognition Award, given to recognize outstanding service to the organization and its partners. Amanda, a program coordinator with the Knowledge Management & Communications group, was lauded for her great track record of collaborating with HMI staff across the organization on a wide range of projects and initiatives. Past awardees include Irene Daly, Rachel D’Ambrosio, Pallavi Jagasia, Michael Kavanagh, Kristen Mitchell, Margaret Regan, Nancy Soule, Diane Standring, Karin Vander Schaff, Holly Vogel, and Ryan Wildes.
