| Dubai Healthcare City moves into second phase of development Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) has progressed into the second phase of its long-term development, which will include the creation of wellness facilities, hospitals, and other clinical centers and cover approximately 20 million square feet. The ambitious new plans were unveiled in January at the annual Arab Health exhibition held in Dubai, where a palpable buzz surrounded an impressive model showing DHCC’s future expansion along the shores of the Dubai Creek. |

| HMI and Wockhardt honor five for contributions to health care in India HMI and Wockhardt, Ltd. paid tribute in February to five outstanding doctors who have helped make significant advances in medical research, prevention, diagnosis, and specialty care in India. The biennial Wockhardt Medical Excellence Awards were presented during a ceremony in New Delhi attended by distinguished members of the Indian medical community as well as faculty from Harvard Medical School. |

| Acibadem sees pharmacists as integral part of patient safety initiatives Acibadem Healthcare Group continues to work with HMI on a wide range of programs focused on raising the standard of patient care throughout its network. In past years these programs have focused on updating best practices for physicians and developing nurse leadership. Most recently, pharmacy professionals from Acibadem came to Boston for a week of activities focused on identifying strategies for improving medication safety and overall pharmacy performance in Acibadem’s growing network of hospitals. |
